Off topic I know... sorry...but I work for a National Healthcare system...me and Fidel...;)... it can work!!! Even impoverished golfers get their elbows fixed!:golf: ...on plane forearms post treatment...free at the point of need...irrespective of their ability to pay... we're just TGM-facilitators for a nation!:laughing9 |
LynnBlakeGolf: Ok, done Bistro 990. At Hyatt Park Roof Lounge. Same as yesterday pm only now . . . nite & stars! Plus, a Cuban and brandy. Good things!
LynnBlakeGolf: The black northern night meets the lit Toronto skyline, and the red and purple CN Tower pierces both. -- >
LynnBlakeGolf: Inside, people congregate. Outside, under shawls and a wall-mounted heat lamp, Mrs. Yoda & I huddle. It's a good thing. -:)
LynnBlakeGolf: At Greg Norman's Wyndance GC in Uxbridge Township. After a breakfast complete with slo-mo swing analysis, our group is off to the range!
LynnBlakeGolf: Lots of wind late yesterday on the course at Wyndance. Back to Glen Abbey today. Looks like we'll be practicing wet weather shots!
LynnBlakeGolf: Back in HOTlanta and a full day on Friday. Today -- Saturday / I no longer have any other days :-) -- was spent with Sean Elliott -->;
LynnBlakeGolf: NJ Junior champ and student of Bill Castner (Master PGA and NJ's Mr. Junior Golf). Bill I teach together at The Barclays each year. -->
LynnBlakeGolf: 15-yr-old Sean is playing a jr event in Reingold, GA, this week, we arranged a visit to The Swamp prior to today's practice round. POW!
LynnBlakeGolf: All done for the week at Cuscowilla. Next stop: Memphis!
And from there: Bethpage! |
LynnBlakeGolf: Okay . . . Headed to NY, Bethpage and the US Open tomorrow. Expect the LBG Tweet-O-Meter to heat up soon!
LynnBlakeGolf: All righty then! An uneventful flight -- the way I like it -- and a series of adroit, totally unplanned moves find me -->
LynnBlakeGolf: Hoteled (3 miles away with shuttle); USGA credentialed; and on course at Bethpage Black. Also, credentialed at Barclays Hospitality! :-)
LynnBlakeGolf: BG in last night but just got to course. Kimberly said he just wanted to sleep in. After only 126 holes last wk in TN heat? Get a backbone!
LynnBlakeGolf: Spent yesterday on the tee and course with Brian Gay. REALLY nasty weather now and 1st rd play suspended.
LynnBlakeGolf: BG had a 2:20 tee time, but looking at these dark skies and driving rain, he may not start until tomorrow. In fact, we may be done today..
LynnBlakeGolf: Rains contnue at Bethpage Black. USGA has just called play for the day. We try again tomorrow!
LynnBlakeGolf: Dinner at Frederick's in Melville. Mrs. Yoda and I met 2 bedraggled USGA staff as we left the hotel. Plan: 27 tomorrow with a 7:30 start.
LynnBlakeGolf: BG's off. First hole #10. Beautiful drive and 20* hybrid CLOSE. Let's start with THREE!
LynnBlakeGolf: Missed from six feet. Rats! But easy start. Go BG!
LynnBlakeGolf: 2-putt par from 20 ft onm #11. Still evev after 2.
LynnBlakeGolf: Walking with Mrs. Kimberly Gay. Also, Rich Ferro / swingnorthtosouth and Sligo rep Ryan Burdo. BG's even thru 5.
LynnBlakeGolf: Oops! I mean +1 thru 5.
LynnBlakeGolf: Thank goodness for Rich. He's played BB "about a hundred times" and knows the way around. It was a whole lot different walking the fairways!
LynnBlakeGolf: This mud in the gallery areas is ujnbelievable. Worse I've seen, the object is to stay UPRIGHT.
LynnBlakeGolf: Fabulous up-and-down from the deep front bunker on the tough 15th. BG remains +1.
LynnBlakeGolf: Birdie on 16. Back to even!
LynnBlakeGolf: Two-putt par on the tough par 3 17th. On to 18!
LynnBlakeGolf: Sorry for 'radio silent'. Had a meeting with Barclays. BG finished at (+3) is set to begin his 3rd nine of the day at 6:20.
Too bad for BG. This is possibly the best scoring window of the weekend.
Oh well, it is the Open afterall. |
LynnBlakeGolf: Voices in the gallery: "Normally it's a good sign when you take a divot.":-)
LynnBlakeGolf: BG makes 3 on the 232 yd par 3 3rd. Hit his Mizuno 20* hybrid in, Even on this 3rd nine, the 1st of his second round. They'll play til dark.
LynnBlakeGolf: If there's such a thing as a good bogey -- and there is -- BG just made it on the par 5 4th. Drive to buried lie in left bunker. -->
LynnBlakeGolf: Left it in. Had to wedge out. 220 yd 3-iron to front bunker. Blast to 5 feet. Draino. Like I said: Great six!
LynnBlakeGolf: Center-cut drive on the par 4 5th. Couldn't see the second down, but it had to be good: I'd know that 'club twirl' anywhere!
LynnBlakeGolf: #5-#6: par-bogey (from left bunker downhill to short pin). Ugh.
LynnBlakeGolf: Okay. #6. Just your basic 525-yd par FOUR. BG split the fw and has carried the front bunker with his trusty hybrid. Don't think he's on.
LynnBlakeGolf: I meant 7th. From downhill lie in 1st cut rough, BG just pitched to about 12 ft. Now , , , draino! Trust me folks; this all the par 4 yo ...
